Tip 75: Energize yourself

Concentrating on learning has the same effects as concentrating on work: If you don't take care of yourself and overdo it, even the most interesting topic will lose its fun aspect.

So, if you find yourself learning for a longer period of time, make sure you manage your energy levels well. No matter whether sitting in front of the computer taking an online course or sitting in a training room, it is important to take small 2-5-minute breaks if possible every 20 minutes.

Here are actions that you can do either separately or in combination with each either. My extra tip: Set an alarm clock so you don't forget!

  • Open your window and take slow and very deep breaths in (to the count of four) and out (to the count of four). Repeat 3 times.

  • Stretch your neck to the left, to the right, to the front and to the back. Repeat 3 times.

  • Roll your shoulders slowly backward (10 times) and forward (10 times). Repeat 3 times.

  • Stand up, go on your toes and stretch your arms to the sky, let yourself fall forward with your fingertips to the ground and then roll up your spine slowly. Repeat 3 times.

  • Take a 5 min. power nap, playing soft meditation music in the background.

  • Put on your favourite music and dance like crazy (that can be extremely powerful if you do it together with your training group ;-))

What are your tips to take a mini break to relax?
